Leesungdang, established in 1945, is the oldest bakery in Korea, renowned for its popular yachaeppang (vegetable bun) and danpatppang (bun with sweet red bean filling). Danpatppang is made with rice flour and generously filled with sweet red bean paste. Yachaeppang features a chewy texture with a variety of vegetables inside. It is also famous as one of the representative tourist attractions in Gunsan.

Bokseongnu is one of the top three jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurants in the Gunsan area. Its specialty lies in its flavorful jjamppong broth, made with fresh squid, mussels, cockles, and vegetables. Another popular menu item is the mul jjajang (black bean sauce noodles in broth), prepared by slicing various vegetables and seafood and adjusting the thickness with starch.

Guesthouse Yeojeong (‘Journey’) stands on Modern Culture Street in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, and offers two types of accomodation: Korean-style ondol-heated rooms and a room with wooden bunk beds. The owner lives on the first floor and takes good care of the guests. In the common living room, there are books, music, and photos and paintings of Gunsan from the 1920s and 1930s - giving it a bohemian feel. Hinokijam Guesthouse is a two-story traditional Japanese wooden house located on the Modern Culture and History Street of Gunsan, where you can experience the atmosphere and history of modern Japanese culture in Korea. Guests staying at the guesthouse are mostly travelers, and the room rates are reasonable, so it is a cost-effective option. There are 7 guest rooms, ranging from two-person rooms to eight-person rooms. Guest rooms for four or more people have beds depending on the room, and all bathrooms are inside the room. Hanilok is a must-visit Korean restaurant in Gunsan. Its flagship dish is the hanu muuguk (Korean beef and radish soup) made with Korean beef. Other menu items include hanu yukhoe bibimbap (Korean beef tartare bibimbap), dakguk (chicken soup), and galbitang (galbi soup), all of which promise delightful flavors. Housed in a Japanese-style building constructed in 1937 and renovated into a restaurant, Hanilok also offers the fun of exploring antique exhibits on the second floor.

Ilchurok is a rice soup restaurant that specializes in two dishes: Aukguk (curled mallow soup) and kongnamul gukbap (bean sprout and rice soup). Aukguk is a popular dish made with curled mallow, raw shrimp, and homemade soybean paste. On the other hand, the kongnamul gukbap is a Jeollado-style rice soup prepared with anchovies and various ingredients for the broth. They also offer homemade kimchi and crunchy diced radish kimchi, which complement the meal well. Ilchurok operates from the early hours of the morning and offers affordable prices.

The Dal (‘Moon’) Guesthouse, on Modern Culture Street in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, is a renovated old house and offers a variety of rooms, from dormitory rooms for single travelers to private rooms for couples, families and groups. The private rooms have bathrooms and TV. Sandwiches, fruit and coffee are provided free of charge in the morning at the 1st floor cafe, and there is a shared kitchen on the 2nd floor. Wolmyeong Park (월명공원)

Wolmyeong Park is a popular tourist destination in Gunsan and connects five mountains in the vicinity. The park has 12 kilometers of walking trails, as well as an observatory, sculpture park, and various monuments. From Susi Tower, which resembles a flame or wind-blown sail, people can see all of downtown Gunsan, the sea to the south of Gunsan, the mouth of the Geumgang River, and the large Janghang smelting factory.

The park has well-arranged gardens and 30-year old rattan and cherry trees. A cherry blossom photo contest is held every April, when the park is covered in cherry blossoms.

Iksan Ssangneung (익산 쌍릉)

The Ssamgneung (Twin Tombs) in Iksan are stone chamber tombs that were unearthed during an academic excavation survey in 1917. At the time of the survey it was discovered the tombs had already been illegally excavated, most likely during the reign of King Chungsukwang of the Goryeo dynasty. Though looters had stripped the tombs of any burial accessories, the wooden coffins were found to be relatively intact.

The coffins were severely damaged in the aftermath of the Korean War, but were later restored by the Jeonju National Museum. When they were first found, the twin tombs measured 3.1 meters high and 0.5 kilometers wide, but some of the original wood was lost during the tombs’ tumultuous history and the restoration that followed. The larger of the restored tombs now measures 30 meters in diameter and 5 meters in x_height while the smaller tomb measures 24 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters in x_height. On January 21, 1963 the tombs were designated Historic Site No. 87.

The Twin Tombs are roughly 200 meters apart, with the tomb in the east called Daewangmyo (big royal tomb) and the one in the west Sowangmyo (small royal tomb). The interiors of the tombs are done in the same style as the stone chamber tombs found in the tomb cluster of Neungsan-ri, Buyeo. Considering that the nearby Mireuksaji Temple Site was built during the reign of King Mu of Baekje dynasty, it is highly likely that the Twin Tombs are those of King Mu and his wife, Queen Seonhwa.

Buyeo Garimseong Fortress (부여 가림성)

Garimseong Fortress is a stone fortress built on the lower reaches of the Geumgang River to protect Sabiseong Fortress, the capital of the Baekje dynasty. The fortress' parking lot is only 200 meters away from the southern entrance, allowing visitors to easily access and enjoy the view from this historical fortress. By ascending the stairway by the rocky cliff, a large tree comes into view. Known to be over 400 years old, this tree is called the "Love tree of Seongheungsan Mountain" and has even made an appearance in the drama "Seodongyo (200)." The fortress is also popular as a sunrise spot, serving as Buyeo-gun’s New Year's Eve festival venue.
