Du 19 avril au 22 mai, le festival des lanternes aura lieu au temple Samgwangsa à Busan avec environ 40 000 lanternes exposées. Il s'agit d'un des festivals de lanternes les plus réputés en Corée. Les lanternes formeront un tunnel de lumières alors que divers événements seront organisés ainsi que des activités pratiques.

Il s'agit d'un festival reproduisant l'Histoire des 12 missions diplomatiques dénommées 'Joseon Tongsinsa' qui ont eu lieu entre 1607 et 1811 entre la Corée et le Japon. Ces missions étaient marquées par l'essor des échanges culturels positifs entre les deux pays. 

Il s'agit d'un festival typique de la ville de Busan créé il y a plus de 10 ans, l'événement est soutenu par la Fondation culturelle de Busan.
