La Seoul Fashion Week est la semaine où les créateurs sortent leurs travaux créatifs, représentant ainsi la saison la plus propice aux défilés de mode. Les principales fashion weeks sont la New York Fashion Week, la Milano Fashion Week, la Paris Fashion Week et la London Fashion Week. La Seoul Fashion Week, Singapore Fashion Week et Tokyo Fashion Week incarnent quant à elles les principaux évènements de mode en Asie.

Situé dans le quartier de Jung-gu à Séoul, Dongdaemun Design Plaza est le lieu servant à l'organisation de la Seoul Fashion Week. Cette dernière est un évènement majeur de commerce de mode qui a lieu deux fois par an, en mars (collection automne/Hiver) et en Octobre (collection printemps/été), organisé par la ville de Séoul et managé par la Fondation du Design de Séoul et le Conseil des créateurs de Corée

La Seoul Fashion Week espère dans le futur faire partie des semaines de la mode majeures, à l'instar des villes de New York, Paris, Londres et Milan.

Le festival de la mode de Dongdaemun a lieu dans le « Fashion Town » de Dongdaemun, le paradis du shopping à Séoul. Bukchonmaru Hanok Guesthouse is located between “Bukchon Views 2 and 3” on a hill in Bukchon Village in Seoul. This two-storied hanbok building with a terrace, which is rarely found among other hanok structures in the area, offers a splendid view of Seoul. In particular, the summit of a hill next to the main gate of Choong Ang High School where the guesthouse is situated is known as the filming location for the famous Korean TV series Winter Sonata (2002). When you open the main gate and go up to the first floor, a small yard is seen with a group of jars on one side. After entering the sliding door through the yard, there is daecheong maru (main floored room) that features the doors opening in all directions and a high ceiling with rafters, making the space open and cozy. The hanok building consists of two floors – the ground floor is equipped with special furniture, a jar table and a log chair made by the owner, and on the first floor are guestrooms comprised of one large room and two small rooms. The neat and clean rooms are designed in a simple way and have lovely bedding with the pattern of five cardinal colors. Its staff members can speak English and Chinese to communicate with guests from other countries. Every morning, guests engage in animated conversation while enjoying a Korean home-style breakfast prepared by the owner in a friendly atmosphere. After having breakfast, if guests want, they can try on traditional Korean clothes (hanbok) and take photographs inside and around the guesthouse to create interesting memories. The guesthouse also provides a hanbok rental service (KRW 30,000 for a day) and tourists wearing traditional Korean clothes can enter both Changdeokgung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace, which can be reached on foot within 10 to 15 minutes, free of charge. Moreover, guests can enjoy an open view of the area including Gahoe-dong, Gye-dong and even the lights of the Namsan Seoul Tower at night from the roof top.

Dialogue in the Dark – Bukchon (어둠속의대화 북촌점)

Située près du palais Gyeongbokgung, Dialogue in the Dark – Bukchon est une exposition participative sensorielle unique qui se déroule dans l’obscurité totale pendant 100 minutes. Accompagnés par un·e Roadmaster, les participants explorent différents environnements uniquement à travers les sens du toucher, de l’ouïe, de l’odorat et du goût.

Créée en Allemagne en 1988, cette exposition internationale a été présentée dans plus de 161 villes à travers le monde, touchant plus de 12 millions de visiteurs en Europe, en Asie et en Amérique.

Les visiteurs doivent arriver 15 minutes avant l’heure de réservation pour retirer leurs billets, déposer leurs affaires personnelles et se préparer à l’expérience. L’entrée se fait à l’heure exacte via un ascenseur menant progressivement vers une obscurité complète. Pendant 100 minutes, aucune sortie n’est possible ; il est donc essentiel d’utiliser les toilettes à l’avance.

L’exposition est située à 700 m de la sortie 2 de la station de métro Anguk (ligne 3). Le quartier de Bukchon et ses environs, proches du palais Gyeongbokgung, offrent également de nombreux cafés et restaurants à découvrir avant ou après l’expérience.

Hanok Guesthouse Dongchonchae [Korea Quality] / 한옥 게스트하우스 동촌재 [한국관광 품질인증/Korea Quality]

Built in 1939, Dongchonchae was designated as Seoul Well Hanok by the Seoul Metropolitan City in 2016. In 2020, this hanok (traditional Korean house) received the Certificate of KOREA QUALITY from the Korea Tourism Organization in the Heritage Hanok field in recognition of its historicity and quality of services. Dongchonjae is located in the western side of Gyeongbokgung Palace, at Seochon. When one passes through its main gate, one sees the yard, with anchae (women's quarters), sarangchae (men's quarters), and byeolchae (detached quarters) surrounding the plot. Anchae has four rooms, daecheong (wood-floored main hall), a kitchen, and a restroom. One of the rooms is used for tea ceremonies as well. Outside of the sarangchae and byeolchae, which are the living spaces for the owners, visitors have free access to the numaru (raised open floor) and the yard. The anchae’s rooms “Bom” and “Yeoreum” can accommodate 2 to 3 adults each, while the rooms “Gaeul” (Tea Room) and “Gyeoul” are optimal for two. The building is rented out as a whole, so no more than one group may stay in the building at any given time. Standard occupancy is four persons, and eight is the maximum number. There are two restrooms, one within the anchae building, one out in the backyard.
Cooking is not allowed in the kitchen, but guests are free to bring in outside food. Experience programs on offer include nighttime exploration of Seoul City Wall, tea ceremony, folk songs, and rice cake making. Additional payment is only required for rice cake making. Guests may choose between two types of complimentary breakfast: Korean, which comes with rice, soup, and three side dishes; and Western, which comes with bread, salad, and coffee. There are a 100-in screen and mini projector for film watching in the yard or daecheong. Towels, toiletries, hair dryer, bottled water, traditional tea, and capsule coffee are included. The kitchen is equipped with kitchen utensils, a microwave, and a coffee pot, enough for instant foods. Guests also have access to refrigerator and washing machine

Construit à l’origine pour servir de villa royale, le palais Changdeokgung est devenu le centre du gouvernement durant la dynastie Joseon après que le palais principal Gyeongbokgung ait été brûlé durant l’invation japonaise au XVIème siècle. En plus de son importance politique, le palais est renommé pour son esthétique et son architecture, étant aménagé au sein d’un magnifique paysage naturel. En 1997, l’UNESCO a inscrit le palais Changdeokgung sur la liste du patrimoine culturel. Dans le cadre du projet Création des Palais Vivants, le circuit au clair de lune du palais Changdeokgung offre une occasion unique de contempler et faire l’expérience de la beauté du palais.

Parc historique et culturel de Dongdaemun (동대문역사문화공원)

Le parc historique et culturel de Dongdaemun allie les vestiges et l’architecture traditionnelle d’autrefois avec un espace culturel à la pointe du modernisme. Il inclut la citadelle de Séoul, la porte des écluses Igansumun (265 m, 8 030 m²), le hall historique de Dongdaemun (1 313 m²), le hall d’exposition permanent de Dongdaemun (4 460 m²), le hall commémoratif du stade de Dongdaemun (339 m²), le hall des manifestation (2 058 m²) et la galerie du design (400 m²). Deux spots d’éclairage pour les matches nocturnes et la vasque de la flamme olympique sont les témoins de l’ancien stade sportif de Dongdaemun. Des fouilles archéologiques de la citadelle et des sites des anciens stades de base-ball et de football ont permi d’exhumer 44 bâtiments datant de l’époque Joseon (1392 – 1910), dont le terrain d’entraînement Hadogam, ainsi qu’un millier d’objets, parmi lesquels des porcelaines et des céladons de Joseon.
