Le théâtre national de Corée s’est ouvert en 1950, c’était alors le tout premier théâtre national en Asie. Actuellement il est le siège de quatre compagnies : la compagnie nationale de théâtre, la compagnie nationale Changgeuk, la compagnie nationale de danse et la compagnie de l’orchestre national. Le théâtre se divise en quatre salles, dont la plus grande est la salle Haeoreum. Elle possède une capacité de 1500 sièges et des équipements d’éclairage et de son modernes. L’espace prévu entre les sièges et le plus large de tous les théâtres du pays et permet un comfort inégalé. Daloreum, la plus petite des salles contient 450 sièges. Le répertoire qui y est joué est permanent. La salle Byeoloreum situé dans un bâtiment annexe est unique car sa scène et ses sièges sont adaptables aux différents type de spectacle. Tous les équipements y sont démontables et sa capacité est de 100 places. C’est la salle dédiée aux spectacles expérimentaux ou d’avant-gardes, on la réserve aussi pour les spectacles uniques. La salle est dotée d’un équipement son dernier-cri et d’un système d’éclairage portable. Les concerts en plein air et les festivals déstinés pour les jeunes se tiennent là.

Le théâtre national abrite de nombreuses installations pour le confort du spectateurs, si vous souhaitez obtenir des informations sur les spectacles et l’achat des billets rendez-vous au centre d’information aux clients, au rez-de-chaussée (salle Haeoreum).
Au premier étage se trouve une salle d’exposition présentant différents costumes et accessoires de théâtre. On peut ainsi y voir l’histoire du théâtre coréen.
Au sous-sol se trouve 'Jihwaja' un restaurant de cuisine de palais, 'The Sun and the Moon' un restaurant coréen de style fusion, et un hall pour les réceptions après les concerts. Le hall offre une vue magnifique sur Namsan, pensez donc à y passer.

Village Seochon (서촌마을)

Le village Seochon se situe à l'est du palais Gyeongbokgung. Il s'agit d'un lieu composé à la fois de maisons traditionnels hanok, de petites ruelles paisibles, mais aussi de nouveaux magasins qui forment une très belle harmonie dans le village. En parcourant les nombreuses petites ruelles des lieux, vous pourrez aussi apprécier plusieurs peintures murales très colorèes. Ce village se distingue donc par son côté à la fois pittoresque mais aussi raffiné.

Ca'del Lupo is an Italian restaurant, closely located to Paris Baguette in Hyoja-dong, Jongno-gu near Gyeongbokgung Palace Station. Though the restaurnat masters delicious homemade Italian cuisine on the inside, the exterior is wholly Korean. This unique combination of Hanok (traditional Korean house) style housing and Western foods is drawing a lot of people to Hyoja-dong. The great mix of both cultures can be seen in the sophisticated decorations and from the amazing food. The herbs they use are picked directly from the restaurant's personal garden. But to enjoy the atmosphere here, you will have to make a reservation far in advance.

Guesthouse Nuha is a ‘hanok’ or traditional Korean house consisting of four guestrooms located in Nuha-dong, Seochon (west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jongno, Seoul) where many Confucian scholars and artists lived during the Joseon Dynasty. Exuding a refined atmosphere, Guesthouse Nuha is very popular among not only domestic visitors but also foreign tourists who want to experience the flavor of Korea in a cozy hanok. All four guestrooms (An-bang, Sarang-bang, Geul-bang, and Byeol-dang) are covered with eco-friendly hanji (traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry tree) wallpaper, and are equipped with a thick cotton-wool comforter and pillows imbued with the scent of Hinoki cypress tree to help guests relieve their fatigue. Breakfast is served free of charge. Guests can also experience traditional Korean culture here, such as playing a Korean musical instrument (janggu or double-headed drum), playing a game of yut in the yard, or wearing hanbok (traditional Korean clothes). Although a local bus service passes through the village, it is highly recommended to take a quiet leisurely around the area.

Bukchonmaru Hanok Guesthouse is located between “Bukchon Views 2 and 3” on a hill in Bukchon Village in Seoul. This two-storied hanbok building with a terrace, which is rarely found among other hanok structures in the area, offers a splendid view of Seoul. In particular, the summit of a hill next to the main gate of Choong Ang High School where the guesthouse is situated is known as the filming location for the famous Korean TV series Winter Sonata (2002). When you open the main gate and go up to the first floor, a small yard is seen with a group of jars on one side. After entering the sliding door through the yard, there is daecheong maru (main floored room) that features the doors opening in all directions and a high ceiling with rafters, making the space open and cozy. The hanok building consists of two floors – the ground floor is equipped with special furniture, a jar table and a log chair made by the owner, and on the first floor are guestrooms comprised of one large room and two small rooms. The neat and clean rooms are designed in a simple way and have lovely bedding with the pattern of five cardinal colors. Its staff members can speak English and Chinese to communicate with guests from other countries. Every morning, guests engage in animated conversation while enjoying a Korean home-style breakfast prepared by the owner in a friendly atmosphere. After having breakfast, if guests want, they can try on traditional Korean clothes (hanbok) and take photographs inside and around the guesthouse to create interesting memories. The guesthouse also provides a hanbok rental service (KRW 30,000 for a day) and tourists wearing traditional Korean clothes can enter both Changdeokgung Palace and Gyeongbokgung Palace, which can be reached on foot within 10 to 15 minutes, free of charge. Moreover, guests can enjoy an open view of the area including Gahoe-dong, Gye-dong and even the lights of the Namsan Seoul Tower at night from the roof top.

Café Moon (달 카페)

Café Moon has a trendy interior design and includes a realistic 'moon' mounted on one of the walls. The inside and outside of the café are decorated with hanok designs, designs of traditional Korean houses. The inner courtyard of the grounds is often the stage for a variety of parties and music performances held throughout the year. From the late spring into fall, Café Moon holds musical performances of traditional instruments from around the world. The diners enjoying their meals next to the courtyard need only slide the windows open to let in the beautiful melodies.

Haeunjae (下隱齋), meaning “hermit’s residence,” is a hanok (traditional Korean house) residence located in Seochon Hanok Village, near Gyeongbokgung Station on Seoul Subway Line 3. It is dedicated to the ideal of “movies and rest,” and takes after the characteristic form of modern hanok with a small courtyard. The entire house is rented out at once, with a queen bedroom, kitchen, movie room, and two restrooms. Up to 4 guests can reserve the house, with each additional guest above the standard of 2 having access to additional bedding.
The movie room is furnished with a Bose sound system, beam projector, and screen, along with a mobile foot bath.
