Located in Mugyo-dong in Jung-gu, Seoul, Chamsutgol (참숯골) is an upscale restaurant serving hanu beef dishes. The restaurant uses only top quality hanu beef from young cattle (two years old or younger) raised on farms in Jeolla-do Province. For freshness and tenderness, the restaurant serves only fresh meat (not frozen) of A+ grade or higher. To bring out its juiciness and tenderness, the meat is grilled on a charcoal fire.

The elegant ambience and décor and the variety of rooms in different sizes make the restaurant a favorite choice for special events. It is also regularly visited by international tourists. Popular dishes are the sirloin steak and marinated ribs, doengjang soup, and yeongyang dolsotbap (rice served in a hot stone bowl).

Le parc Sejongno est situé près du centre des arts du spectacle Sejong au coeur de Séoul. A l’intérieur du parc, vosu trouverez des bancs en bois et des espaces ombragés pour vous détendre. Vous trouvez également des fontaines d’eau, une scène extérieure, et diverses sculptures. Beaucoup de gens se rendent dans ce parc durant le weekend pour profiter d’un moment de détente. Statue de l’Amiral Yi Sun-Shin (충무공 이순신 동상)

La statue de l’Amiral Yi Sun-Shin à Gwang Hwa mun a été installée le 27 avril 1968. C’est une statue de bronze de 17 mètres (6,5 mètres pour la statue et 10,5 mètres pour la base). En face de la statue, il y a une miniature d’un navire que l’amiral a inventé et à chacun des deux côtés, il y a deux tambours qui étaient utilisés pour encourager les soldats sur le champ de bataille.
La statue représente un très grand symbole car Yi Sun-sin a été largement honoré et sacré héros national parmi les Coréens. Durant la guerre Injin, il a gagné une série de batailles contre les navires japonais grâce à son charisme remarquable, ses exceptionnelles stratégies et ses brillantes tactiques.

La statue est debout à la porte, au milieu de la Corée, portant une épée à la main droite symbolisant son activisme et son patriotisme. Montée sur 10,5 mètres de hauteur, au milieu du boulevard Sejong-ro, elle se repère facilement. Les automobilistes passant sur la route ou les visiteurs à pied passant à côté, peuvent le voir ainsi que le bateau et les tambours en bas du socle.

Seochon Guest House is located in Seochon, which is becoming a hot place for tourists in Seoul, and precisely on the road to Suseong Valley, whichis filled with interesting stores and is also well-known for Park Nosoo Art Gallery and the House of Yun Dong-ju (poet). Seochon Guest House is nicknamed ‘Jaeminangol (interesting village)’ after Baekseok’s poem ‘Yeowunangol’, with the aim of providing a visit full of interesting experiences. Passing through a garden and entering the main building, the unique charm of this hanok building, the staircase to get to the first floor from daecheong (main floored room), catches the eye of the visitors. In addition, the building is decorated with various stylish objects including paintings and Korean musical instruments. The terrace situated on the first floor offers an open view of the surrounding area including roof tiles of hanok structures and alleyways in Seochon. It is said that Korean novelist Yoon Hu-myeong also appreciated the structure of the guesthouse, saying, “It is an interesting place.” Built in the 1930s, the house, which has many storage places, was taken by the owner couple in spring 2014 as they were attracted by the house during their trip to Seochon. After the repair work, the ground floor of the house was opened for guests from January 2016, hoping that guests could share their daily experiences and stories with each other. The guestrooms and the main floored room on the ground floor are open to guests, with the exception of the first floor, which is used by the owner couple. The living room is equipped with books, a curved TV, and a table. The tasty meal, which is served in the kitchen, consists of rice and soup with six side dishes and is much loved by guests. The guesthouse offers a total of four rooms – Jae Room, which is the most Korean-style room; Mi Room, which has a combined style of a Korean-style room and Western-style room; Nan Room, which is an ideal room for meditation with a beautiful paper window; and Ahn Room, which is equipped with a veranda and a pretty flowerbed. Every room has its separate charm with various comfortable bedding to provide a quiet and cozy bedroom for guests in the middle of the city. Furthermore, the guesthouse holds a pansori (epic chant) performance twice a year. The owner started learning how to sing pansori to promote the Korean culture and tradition to foreigners. When a pansori performance is held, the owner offers traditional Korean snacks and drinks including sikhye (sweet rice punch), sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch), traditional sweets and cookies, and tteok (rice cakes) to visitors, tourists, and performers. Moreover, it provides cultural programs such as a Gukak (Korean classical music) experience, Korean traditional clothes experience, and making Korean food experience, as well as other activities with guests, such as trip to the city wall between Inwangsan Mountain and Bugaksan Mountain, and the Royal Palace Tour to Gyeongbokgung Palace, etc., as well as a trip to a traditional market.

Gomguksijib (곰국시집)

Gomguksi is a soup consisting of handmade noodles and beef slices in a thick and rich beef broth. Gomguksi became famous through word-of-mouth by tourists from the neighboring country of Japan. These days the restaurant is always crowded with people. Also, the side dishes that accompany Gomguksi are extremely delicious.

Librairie Kyobo, branche de Gwanghwamun (교보문고)

Le Kyobo est une librairie représentative de la Corée. Avec environ 2.3 millions de livres répertoriés, il est relativement aisé de trouver son bonheur. Ce lieu est souvent bondé avec nombre de clients debouts en pleine lecture. Pendant le week-end, des jeunes aux plus âgés, il y a beaucoup de passage. Le Kyobo est la librairie la plus importante de toute la Corée et divers évènements y sont organisés. Le plus connu est la rencontre entre lecteurs et écrivains du livre du mois. Le Kyobo a aussi 2 magasins : un de musique où l’on peut écouter ses morceaux préférés et une papèterie très fournie. La section livres en langue étrangère est bien connue des étrangers car on peut y trouver maintes livres en langues étrangères. Il est aussi possible de commander des livres lorsqu’ils ne sont pas en rayon. Le quartier est connu pour ses bons restaurants. Si vous désirez goûter un spiritueux populaire et peu cher avec plats d’accompagnement, allez faire un tour au Pimatgol. Il y a aussi différents plats à déguster dans une bonne ambiance. Le Chungjin-dong haejang-guk (bouillon qui soulage des cuites) et les restaurants Mukyo-dong octopus aux alentours sont tout aussi délicieux.
