De esta manera, tras su inauguración, el 1° de febrero de 2002, ha logrado ofrecer pasión y recuerdos a los ciudadanos.

El edificio tiene forma de huevo, esto se debe a que, según se dice, el rey Kim Su-ro de la dinastía Gaya, nació de un huevo en la zona de Gimhae. En la antigüedad, cuando la princesa Heo, del reino Ayodhya, viajó en barco para llegar hasta Gaya, es muy probable que el barco se haya guiado por las estrellas, ya que en aquel tiempo el sistema de navegación no era lo suficientemente tecnológico. También, un príncipe del reino de Gaya construyó un observatorio para contemplar las estrellas en la cima de Jillye Toseong; en la actualidad este lugar sigue siendo el mejor sitio para ver las estrellas. Todos estos registros del reino de Gaya, prueban que la zona de Gimhae tiene una estrecha relación con los astros.

En especial, desde lo alto del monte Bunseongsan, donde está el observatorio, se puede apreciar el paisaje completo de la ciudad de Gimhae, y podrá experimentar el mejor espectáculo en las noches estrelladas.
