Le rocher de Chuam Chotdaebawi est situé à Donghae-si dans la province de Gangwon-do. Il s'agit d'un lieu touristique célèbre en Corée. Les rochers présentent de belles formes tournées vers le ciel et ressemblant à un chandelier d’où son nom "Chotdae" ("bougie" en coréen) et "Bawi" (rocher en coréen).
On en trouve un dizaine de taille différente, et chacun est nommé en fonction de sa forme : Geobukbawi "(tortue)," Bububawi "(couple), et" Hyeongjebawi "(frères), etc.
Le rocher de Chuam Chotdaebawi est un endroit très populaire pour les visiteurs qui souhaitent admirer les ombres du soleil sur la paroi rocheuse. La beauté de la pierre est particulièrement belle au lever du soleil.
On trouve également d’autres attractions à proximité comme la plage Chuam et Haeamjeong, un pavillon datant de la dynastie Joseon.

On raconte qu’un jour, un homme qui vivait à Chuam avait eu une amante. Sa femme était jalouse et le conflit entre ces deux femmes était très important. Un jour, Dieu fit rage sur leurs querelles incessantes et jeta la foudre sur les deux femmes, mortes par la suite. Le veuf fut ensuite condamné dans sa solitude et s'est finalement transformé en un rocher, qui est aujourd’hui le rocher de Chuam Chotdaebawi.

Plage de Chuam (추암해변)

La plage de Chuam dispose d’une grande diversité de formations rocheuses et de falaises côtières. Elle est aussi appelée “Haegeumgang » pour faire référence à son beau paysage. On compte de nombreux rochers (et de cavernes) à observer sur cette île comme le ‘Knife Rock’ et ‘Candlestick Rock’. Ce dernier est devenu le symbole de la plage, juste derrière se trouve le pavillon Haeamjeong.
Les falaises, situées derrière le pavillon Haeamjeong, offrent une vue panoramique magnifique sur l’océan. L’eau de la mer est peu profonde et calme, ce qui en fait une endroit idéal pour un séjour en famille.

Gare de Donghae (동해역)

La gare de Donghae fut mise en service le 1er août 1940 sous le nom de gare de Bukpyeong. Cette gare de se situe dans la ville du même nom (province de Gangwon-do).

La Grotte Cheongok (천곡천연동굴)

Cheongok est une grotte de calcaire qui s'étend sur 1400 mètres. Elle est estimée avoir été créée entre 400 et 500 millions d'années auparavant. Ce qui fait sa grande caractéristique, c’est son cratère situé au plafond est qui est le plus long de Corée. On y trouve aussi des rideaux de stalactites, des terrasses, des cascades de stalactites et de nombreuses autres formations rocheuses impressionnantes. Cheongok offre un merveilleux spectacle pour les touristes et les passionnés de spéléologie.

Donganjae, a traditional Korean style house located near the beach in Donghae City of Gangwon-do, was opened in June 2018. The traditional Korean style house is equipped with modern facilities for convenience while still maintaining the elegant mood of a traditional house. The rooms are located in 5 traditional buildings. The foot bath in the garden gives the feel of a pool villa. Each of the 5 independent buildings (named Mureung, Duta, Chooam, Mukho, and Mangsang to accommodate 3-4 guests in each building) has an upper floor of which the three sides can be opened to command an unobstructed view.
