El monte Hwangnyeongsan se encuentra en el corazón de la ciudad de Busan y atraviesa los distritos de Busanjin-gu, Nam-gu y Suyeong-gu. Con una altura de 427 metros, tiene la segunda mayor cumbre de la cadena montañosa Geumnyeon. Esta montaña está compuesta mayoritariamente por andesita y su cumbre es relativamente plana. Tiene en su interior algunas colinas menores, cuyas cumbres no son pronunciadas. La relativamente baja altura de este monte permite llegar a la cumbre en 2 o 3 horas. En la base del monte se pueden encontrar áreas de descanso municipales y un centro de deportes juvenil. Hay diferentes rutas dependiendo del tipo de transporte que se utilice.
