Hyangchon Cultural Center opened on October 30, 2014 in what was previously the Daegu branch of Commercial Bank, and was founded to promote the revitalization of the local economy. During the refugee period in the 1950s, Hyangchon-dong served as a hometown to many cultural artists. The cultural center replicated the old looks of Hyangchon-dong, making the cultural space even more special. Moreover, in the basement of the building, is the original location and still running "Nokhyang," the oldest classical music hall in the nation, which opened in 1946.

Construction on the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Park began in March 1998 and was completed in December 1999. The park was established to retain the spirit of the National Debt Redemption Movement that originated in Daegu in 1907 and the 2nd movement in 1997 that was held to help overcome the national economic distress affected by the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997. The park also expanded the green space in the downtown area and offers a place of rest and relaxation to the general public.

Spanning 42,500 square meters in size, the park boasts the Dalgubeol Grand Bell, a bell pavilion, walking trails, and other amenities. The famous Dalgubeol Grand Bell was installed on the park grounds in December 1998 as a representation of harmony and prosperity and to symbolically awaken the people with its pure and clear ringing. In addition the convenient and beautifule amenities, the park also has several memorial plaques engraved with quotes from many significant historical figures who shaped Korea's culture and values.

Daegu Arboretum is located at the site of an old sanitary landfill. The restoration of the area passed through many stages from 1996 until the opening in May 2002. It is home to more than thousands of species of plants including giant cacti, flowers, medicinal herbs, and trees in 21 gardens. The arboretum serves as an ecological education center and rest area for Daegu citizens. Ecology experience programs for students and young children are held regularly during summer vacation. Nearby attractions include Apsan and Duryu Parks, as well as Palgongsan and Biseulsan Mountains.

Daegu Concert House, previously Daegu Citizen’s Hall, had undergone renovations from April 2011 to August 2013 to reconstruct eaves and columns of the large concert halls and to build a performance support hall perfect for international concerts. Grand Hall has 1,284 seats, Chamber Hall (small concert hall) has 248 seats, and the parking lot can accommodate a total of 387 cars throughout 215 spaces in the basement level parking lot and 72 spaces in the parking tower. In addition, the concert hall houses an exhibition hall, practice room, and community facilities. In particular, the Grand Hall offers vivid, visible, and acoustic effect by shortening the distance between the performers and audience so that it fits the international standard for concert halls with the best sound facilities.

Suseong Artpia, opened in May 2007, is a major art center in Daegu. It has specialized, independent spaces for housing performances, exhibitions, and art camps. The art center’s facade was designed to resemble a crane flying away with its wings stretched out in order to promote the image of Muhaksan Mountain (named as such because its shape is reminiscent of a flying crane or hak), the mountain on which the center is located. When viewed from the sides however, the center is shaped like a ship, as it was once the site of a large pond. With such an impressive exterior further highlighted by impressive lighting at night, water fountains, and landscaping, Suseong Artpia has become a rising attraction of Daegu. The center is equipped with a mega concert hall that can accommodate diverse genres of performing arts such as an opera, musical, ballet, theater, dance, music concert, and more.

Pyounghwa Market Dakttongjip Street was established with the opening of Samatongdak in 1972, and is a street specializing in chicken gizzard dishes. Inexpensive and delicious, the dish has remained popular.
