The former Mooee Elementary School was transformed into Mooee Arts Center exhibiting works of noted Korean artists. It is located in the town of Bongpyeong-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun, which was the hometown of the famous Korean writer Lee Hyo-seok (1907-1942) and the background setting of his representative novel "When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom." Mooee Arts Center opened on April 18, 2001, after 2 years of preparation by Korean artists of various genres including the Western-style painter Jeong Yeon-seo, calligrapher Lee Cheon-seop, sculptor Oh Sang-wook, and potter Kwon Soon-beom.
The schoolyard has been turned into an outdoor sculpture park displaying large-scale sculptures. The arts center also offers hands-on experience programs and a chance to view the artists creating their pieces.

Heungjeonggyegok Valley is about 5 kilometers away from the town of Bongpyeong-myeon in Pyeongchang, Gangwon State. The 5-kilometer long valley that stands between Heungjeongsan Mountain and Hoeryeongbong Peak has a beautiful landscape. A wide variety of freshwater fish like trout inhabit the clear waters of the valley. Gariwangsan Mountain is one of the major mountains in the Taebaek Mountain Range. It is a home to numerous alpine tree species, as well as wildflowers and herbs. Its trails are popular thanks to the gentle slopes. Gariwangsan National Recreational Forest is located at the Hoedong-ri Village entrance. The recreational forest has various amenities, but the walking path next to the valley is by far the most outstanding. The thick forest blocks out the sky while purifying the air.

Yeongwol Beopheungsa Temple (법흥사(영월))

Beopheungsa Temple was created by Jajangyulsa in 647, called Heungnyeongsa Temple at the time, under the reign of King Jindeok of Silla to enshrine Jinsinsari of Buddha. At that time, Preceptor Jinghyo earned 100 Jinsinsari of Munsubosal and enshrined them at Yangsan Tongdosa Temple, Odaesan Sangwonsa Temple, Seoraksan Bongjeongam, Jeongseon Jeongamsa Temple and Beopheungsa Temple while establishing Jeongmyeolbogung, Hall of Buddha, at each of the places. Inside the Jeongmyeolbogung there is no statue of Buddha and only a wide open window. This is because it is believed that the mountain as a whole is the enshrined Jinsinsari of Buddha himself.

Beopheungsa was once a large temple where over 2,000 monks gathered. Today, most of the temple buildings were lost to a number of fires leaving only a few buildings. The pine wood path from Beopheungsa Temple to Jeongmyeolbogung is one of the most picturesque sites in the nation. The location was originally named Sajasansa but later changed to Sajasan Jeongmyeolbogung in 1939. In addition to the path, the nine peaks (Gubongdae) lined up one after another forms another charming view.
