Located near Shinchon station, Chuncheonjip Dakgalbi Makguksu’s most popular dish is Dakgalbi, which is prepared by marinating boneless chicken in spicy red pepper paste and stir-frying it with various ingredients in a large cast iron pan. Patrons have the option to ppyeo eomneun dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried boneless chicken), cheese dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken and cheese), and maeundakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) as preferred. For an extra tasty treat, one can add an assortment of noodles and vegetables to the chicken as it cooks. After fhinishing the chicken, ordering rice to stir-fry in the pan to soak up the extra flavorful sauce is a must-try.

Bonghwasan Mountain (alt. 160 meters) in Jungnang-gu, Seoul offers scenic views of Buramsan, Dobongsan, and Namsan mountains. From the mountain, hikers can even see as far as the Yangju area of Gyeonggi-do Province to the north. Officially designated a “neighborhood park” in July 1977, Bonghwasan Mountain has a variety of convenience facilities, not least of which is the beacon tower of Achasan Bongsudae (remolded in 1994) perched on the mountain summit. Also near the summit is Sansingak Shrine, which is the site of the annual Bonghwasan Dodanggut (Intangible Cultural Property of Seoul), a shamanistic rite performed on the third day of the third lunar month.

Gildong Ecological Park (길동생태공원)

Gildong Ecological Park was founded by the Seoul government by restoring the wetland on the side of Cheonho-daero. The park maintains and preserves a wide range of flora and fauna in their natural habitats, allowing park visitors to observe plants, animals and insects in a natural ecosystem, and to learn about the importance of nature conservation.

The 80,683 ㎡ park is divided into a wetland zone, forest zone, and grassland zone. Amenities include an outdoor classroom, outdoor exhibition space, observation deck, pergolas, and more. The bird observation platform in particular is a great way to birdwatch in the urban landscape.
