It is said that Samcheong-dong was named from the story about the three "cheong" (Chinese character meaning clean) of the area, namely the mountain, water, and people. Another theory is that the origin of the region's name came from Samcheongjeon Hall where three tablets called "Taecheong," "Sangcheong," and "Okcheong," were set up based on Taoism. Samcheong-dong Street features a mixture of old scenes of hanok buildings with traditional beauty and modern scenes of galleries and cafés, creating a unique atmosphere. Opened in December of 2007, Gwanaksan Ecological Park is located on a 76,521 m² plot of land. The park is divided into two sections: Eco Forest, a forest of broad-leaved trees, and Eco Pond, a habitat of aquatic animals. PungGyeong, located opposite Sungkyunkwan Academy in Jongno-gu, Seoul, is a hanok-style guest house whose outer wall is painted with a stylish blue pine tree. Suseong-dong Valley's stream runs down from Inwangsan Mountain and joins Cheonggyecheon Stream, and it is said that the name of the village was called Suseong-dong during the Joseon dynasty due to the loud and clear sound of the flowing water. It appears in the painting "Jangdong Palgyeongcheop," which is Jangdong Eight Scenic Views, that depicts the eight scenic views of Bugaksan Mountain and Inwangsan Mountain as well as in other historical books of the Joseon dynasty as a place of scenic beauty. The valley was so famous for its beauty, that Prince Anpyeong of the Joseon dynasty built his house "Bihaedang" to fully enjoy the view, and the valley and its stone bridge were designated as a cultural property of Seoul in 2010.

With the recent remodeling of the market, including the long-neglected Gyeongdong Theater, the place feels totally renewed and full of energy. Thanks to the renovation and diverse food stalls, the place is always bustling and filled with people.

Located south of the eastern side of Seokchon Lake, this street is home to numerous restaurants and cafes. Its name comes from the combination of Songpa-dong and Gyeongnidan-gil Street in Itaewon, Seoul, meaning the “Gyeongnidan-gil Street of Songpa-dong.” This street began as an otherwise unremarkable street that faced the eastern side of Seokchon Lake. Today’s “Songnidan-gil Street” came to be as cafes moved into the neighborhood, followed by restaurants and photography studios.
