Located at the foot of Umyeonsan Mountain in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Gwanmunsa Temple had its ground-breaking ceremony in 1993 and construction was completed in October 1998.
The temple site has a total area of 22,148.76 ㎡ with seven ground levels and four basement levels. The temple was constructed with a mixture of modern and traditional Buddhist architectural designs. Inside the temple, cutting-edge facilities are used for various cultural events, conferences, and sacred ceremonies.
Neighbored by Cheonggyesan Mountain, Umyeonsan Mountain, and Yangjaecheon Stream, the temple is located near many natural spots visitors can enjoy. In particular, Umyeonsan Mountain (alt. 293 m), where Gwanmunsa Temple is located, gets its name for its shape resembling a cow lying down. Designated as a city park and managed by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Umyeonsan Mountain has several valleys with clear spring waters and a dense forest inhabited by diverse animals and plants.

SHINee's Key and Minho's Soul Food
It is a Sundae and Rice Soup restaurant that SHINee's Key and Minho have chosen as the soul food that they used to eat after their schedules since their trainee days. Rice Soup can be enjoyed white with only salted shrimp in the soup, or it is delicious with minced seasoning. Amore Seongsu is an experiential store presented by the cosmetics brand Amorepacific Corporation. The building was renovated from an old car repair shop and presents a unique vibe. Visitors can test products on their skin and purchase products from over 30 brands released by Amorepacific Corporation. Recommended items include the Puzzlewood Hand Cream and Vegan Brush, made using a vegan recipe and a certified-vegan. A pop-up store is operated every month in collaboration with brands from various fields worldwide, providing trendy and extraordinary experiences such as exhibitions and product testing.

Yearimdang Art Hall is a children’s theater that opened in March 2011. A joint project of Yearimdang publishing company and PMC Production, the art hall is a mid-sized theater with 439 seats divided into two floors. The first floor consists of VIP sets and S-class seats that allow for more interaction with the actors on stage and access to surprise events during the performances. Seats on the second floor (A-class) offer an affordable, bird’s-eye-view of the stage. The seats are designed to fit children’s body, while providing parents with much needed rest.
