Gohyang Gul Susan is a restaurant specializing in oysters located within the Cheonbuk Oyster Complex. Oysters are the specialty of this place. Seongnyeonsa Temple is located on the side of Baegwolsan Mountain, and is a branch temple of Sudeoksa Temple. The path to the temple is paved, making it easy to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. A bit further up the mountain from Daeungjeon Hall, visitors will be greeted by a large stone-carved Buddha that was made recently. The lack of moss and weathering makes it stand out from other rock-carved Buddha statues, while showing the unwavering faith of the local Buddhists.

Settled along the western coast of Chungcheongnam-do, Daecheon is special tourist zone which is famous for its beach comprised of clam shells, cosmetics made with natural mud brought from the mudflat, various fresh seafood, Wonsando Beach, Coal Museum, Seongjusaji, and others. Seongjusan Recreational Forest in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do is especially popular in spring because of its cherry blossoms and beautiful wildflowers. Also, the observatory 100 meters below the mountain peak (680 meters in elevation) offers a great view of Seongju-myeon and Oesan-myeon. Roundtrip hike to the peak takes approximately 2-3 hours.

Nearby tourist attractions include the Seongjusaji Temple site and a coal museum (15 minutes on foot), as well as Daecheon Beach and Muchangpo Beach (20-30 minutes by car).

Situated in Boryeong (Chungcheongnam-do), Boryeong Coal Museum focuses on the history of the coal industry and its importance. Its indoor and outdoor exhibition halls display a wide array of coal equipment employed to mine and carry coal. Visitors can also see a video depicting the coal mining process.

A reproduced mine is equipped with a tunnel (using the cold air from a closed mine) and decorated with photos on the wall of the tunnel. Reproducing the real process of coal mining, visitors may feel as if they are going up and down the mine, 400m underground. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (to 5 p.m. during the winter season); it is closed on Mondays.
