This restaurant uses only the freshest octopus caught from Taean’s tidal flats, so the octopus remains chewy and tender even after boiling. Noodles can be added to the soup. Taean’s proximity to the sea and its extensive tidal flats make seafood from Taean plentiful and delicious.

Kyunghee Sikdang is a Korean table d'hote restaurant with 70 years of history, located at the entrance to the Beopjusa Temple in Songnisan Mountain. The dishes are prepared with ingredients sourced from Songnisan Mountain, vegetables grown by the restaurant, and in-house sauces. They come with nearly 40 side dishes, such as sogogi pyeonyuk (boiled beef slices), dureup namul (fatsia shoot salad), gosari (bracken), gam jangajji (pickled persimmons), ssari beoseot (coral mushroom), meowi namul (butterbur salad), pyogojeon (pan-fried battered golden oak mushrooms), bam jorim (braised chestnuts), and deulkkae songi twigak (young perilla branch chips). The restaurant’s mustard sauce and gangdoenjang (seasoned soybean paste) are made according to its secret recipe.

Ohak Sikdang is famous for its mukbap (chilled acorn jelly and rice soup), which is made using acorns and mushrooms. Mukbap (chilled acorn jelly and rice soup) is made by topping rice with long and thin slices of acorn jelly, sauce, vegetables, kimchi, and cold soup. Ohak Sikdang’s signature menus are mukbap jeongsik (chilled acorn jelly and rice soup set menu) and baekban (set menu). The side dishes here are quite good as well. Other menus include sundubu (soft bean curd jjigae), suyuk (boiled pork slices), and dubu jeongol (bean curd hot pot).
