Explanation

DOMOHEON, the former residence of the Busan Mayor, was transformed into a cultural space and opened to the public in September 2024. The establishment includes a cultural space, shared office, café, lecture hall, meeting room, and various other convenience facilities. It also features a living garden, which is the first living garden in Busan. In the past, it was also referred to as the local Cheong Wa Dae creating an authoritative image. However, with the recent remodeling, it has now become a welcoming space for the public to relax and enjoy cultural activities.

Dooly Museum (둘리뮤지엄)

Dooly Museum is Korea's first museum to be dedicated to a single character. The museum is dedicated to Dooly, the main character from the Korean cartoon series "Dooly the Little Dinosaur." The cartoon was published as a series on a comic magazine called "Bomulseom" from 1983 to 1993, following Dooly's adventure that begins from his arrival to Ssangmun-dong inside a glacier from the Ice Age. Inspired by the series, this interactive museum was founded in Ssangmun-dong and explores the value and meaning of the hit series through the expansion of its works such as the animation series, character merch, and other media sources.

Haeundae Tourist Information Center, located next to the Busan Aquarium, provides information about tourist attractions and programs. Visitors can obtain leaflets, travel maps, and guidebooks to make their trip more convenient. Right next to the Information Center is the Haeundae Souvenir Shop, where visitors can purchase a variety of Haeundae-themed souvenirs, such as camellia tote bags, mugs, magnets, and accessories.

Geoje Sea World (거제씨월드)

Geoje Sea World, the largest dolphin theme park in Korea, is located in Geoje. As one of the main attractions in the area, it is the only place in Korea that offers experience programs with the white beluga whales. The Sejong Traditional Paste Museum highlights Korea’s traditional sauce culture, featuring staples like soybean paste, red chili paste, and soy sauce. Its garden, with over 1,000 pots, is a standout attraction. The museum includes indoor exhibition halls, an outdoor exhibit area, a fermentation experience center, a Korean restaurant specializing in fermented sauces, and a paste shop. Visitors can participate in activities such as making grain soap shaped like meju (fermented soybean blocks) or creating their own fermented pastes. In November, visitors can also observe the process of making soybean paste and red chili paste.

Children's Museum (국립어린이박물관)

Presidential Archives (대통령기록전시관)

The Presidential Archives offers an immersive journey through modern Korean history with documents, photos, and videos of South Korea's past presidents. It includes an exhibition hall, a children’s experience hall, and a video theater. The president’s office and reception room have been faithfully recreated, and displays include diplomatic gifts, souvenirs, and official vehicles used by past presidents. Children can engage in fun activities like becoming a president, creating election posters and participating in voting simulations.
