Nadeul Hanok was opened in 2018 with brand-new facilities, in a location just a minute’s walk from Cheomseongdae Observatory in Gyeongju. You can feel a sense of healing in nature in the traditional style house, built in environment-friendly construction method with wood and earth. The ‘ㄷ’-shaped building creates a snug atmosphere and the hipped-and-gable roof and the curves of the roof tile show the traditional quiet and still flavor of a traditional Korean house. There are 7 rooms in Nadeul Hanok. Among them, the Garam, Gayeon, and Nuri Rooms are offered at 50,000 won for 2 persons during off-season so that visitors can enjoy staying in a traditional Korean house at more affordable prices. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom for better convenience and there is an individual thermostat all year round. Complimentary breakfast made of healthy convenience food is offered to all guests. The menu is composed of barley bread, fruit, coffee, juice, boiled egg, and biscuit, and is subject to change according to situation. What is good is that the breakfast can be delivered to the room if the delivery time is requested during breakfast time, which is from 8 to 9 AM. It is possible to look around the tourist attractions near Nadeul Hanok on foot. Tombeau Geumgwanchong (금관총)

Geumgwanchon, situé à Noseo-dong (Gyeongju), est un tombeau de la Dynastie Shilla (-57 à 935 ap JC). Il s’agit de l’un des trois tombeaux du centre ville de Gyeongju appartenant au district Noseo-dong Tomb.

Le Tombeau Geumgwanchon est considéré comme le tombeau d’un roi avant ou après le règne du Roi Ji-Jeung, au début du 6ème siècle (500-514). L’on ne sait exactement à qui il appartient.

Il fut découvert en Septembre 1921, lorsque le fief fut passé au peigne fin après qu’un civil eut nivelé le sol afin d’élargir son terrain constructible. La première relique trouvée dans ce tombeau fut une couronne en or (« Geumgwan », ayant donné son nom au tombeau). Des ornements tels que des ceintures en or, des boucles d’oreille, des bracelets, des selliers ainsi que des vaisselles datant de l’époque des Trois Royaumes (lorsque Goguryeo, Baekje et Silla étaient séparés -réunifiés plus tard par Silla en 676-) furent désensevelis. Il y avait de très nombreuses reliques, dont certaines garnies de perles représentant à elles seules un total de plus de 30 000.

La structure originelle de Geumgwanchong était de 13m de haut et de 50m de diamètre. Les reliques du tombeau furent déplacées et sont désormais conservées par le Musée National de Gyeongju.
 

Bonghwangdae (Gyeongju) (봉황대)

La tombe de Bonghwangdae se trouve dans le complexe des tombes de Nodongdong. Cette tombe est unique du fait que son nom ne termine pas en –neung ou en –chong, ce qui signfie « tombe » en Corée. Elle n’a pas non plus été nommée d’après la région où elle a été découverte ou les reliques qui y ont été trouvées. Le nom de cette tombe, « Bonghwang », se rapporte à la légende du roi Wanggeon de la dynastie Goryo.

Un maître du Feng-Shui dit au roi Wanggeon qu’il devrait détruire le royaume de Silla, car son territoire avait la forme d’un bateau. Le roi Wanggeon, d’après la recommandation de l’expert, l’envoya à Silla. Le maître dit au roi de Silla que comme son territoire prenait la forme d’un Bonghwang, un phoenix chinois, celui-ci devrait ériger de nombreuses montagnes en forme d’oeufs d’oiseau pour le bien du royaume. Le roi fit donc bâtir de grandes tombes. Mais ces tombes nouvellement créées provoquèrent la destruction du royaume, car d’après les principes du Feng-Shui, cela signifiait que le bateau était surchargé, et il fit finallement naufrage.

La tombe de Bonghwangdae fait 82 mètres de diamètre et 22 mètres de haut. Elle ressemble davantage à une petite colline qu’à une tombe. Mais étant donné la taille de la tombe, on peut supposer que ce fut celle d’un roi.

Pyeongyang Naengmyeon (평양냉면)

The restaurant of Pyeongyang Naengmyeon has been operated through two generations and thus is very famous in Gyeongju. Its noodles are hand-made from starch of Korea-grown buckwheat and potato and broth is made by deeply boiling beef bones. So, noodles are chewy and broth tastes rich and clean.

Donggunggwa Wolji (Etang Anapji) (경주 동궁과 월지)

Il est mentionné dans les chroniques des trois royaumes (Samguk sagi) que durant la 14ème année du règne du roi Munmu (661~681), un grand étang fut creusé et de petites montagnes furent construites dans l’enceinte du palais. De belles fleurs furent plantées et on fit venir des animaux rares afin de créer un jardin extraordinnaire. C’est en fait à Wolseung, une forteresse érigée en 101 que l’on peut trouver ce fameux étang de Anapji. En 1974, une fouille archéologique révèle une forme sphérique de 200 m sur 180 m indiquant l’étang ainsi que trois îlots de tailles différentes. Grâce à des efforts de restauration, l’étang de Anapji peut-être vu dans une forme proche de sa splendeur d’origine..


Les vestiges de Imhaejeon
Imhaejeon était l’un des palais secondaires de la famille royale de Silla, il était utilisé par le prince héritier. Le nom de Imhaejeon est en fait le nom du bâtiment le plus important du site et les chroniques historiques s’y réfèraient souvent pour parler de l’ensemble du site.
Une fouille archéologique a permis de découvir plusieurs bâtiments, des corridors, l’étang d’anapji, et cinq tours dans la partie la plus à l’ouest du site. Certains bâtiments ont été restaurés d’autres ont été laissés tel quel, ne laissant apparaître que les pierres angulaires.
