Le poste d’observation de Hajodae siège sur une falaise à côté d’un vieux pin, et suplombe la Mer de l’Est. Selon la légende, le nom de « Hajodae » viendrait des initiales de Haryun et Jojun, deux des fondateurs de la dynastie Joseon, qui sont passés dans la région durant leurs périples.
