L'arboretum Solhyang à Gangneung a été inauguré le 30 octobre 2013 dans l'arrondissement de Gujeong-ri. Il a été construit autour du site de la vallée Yongsogol et du mont Chilseongsan, un site célèbre pour ses forêts de pins. Le site abrite pas moins de 220 000 plates regroupées sous 1127 différentes espèces. En parcours les différents chemins de promenade, les visiteurs peuvent ici apprécier de magnifiques paysages naturels qui varient en fonction des saisons.

La ferme Samyang de Daegwallyeong est la plus grande ferme d'Asie qui se trouve de 850 à 1 470m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Elle a été crée par la conversion de terres en jachères de hautes montagnes en pâturage. On peut y voir des prairies vertes, des vaches qui broutent tranquillement l'herbe et au loin Gangneung, Jumunjin et la mer de l'Est.

On peut voir au mont Hwangbyeongsan qui est le sommet de la ferme à l'Est Gyeongpodae de Gangneung, Jumunjin, Yeongokcheon, Cheonghakdong, la vallée Sogeumgang et à l'Ouest le panorama de la grande prairie de la ferme.
