Aéroport international de Yangyang (양양국제공항)

L'aéroport international de Yangyang, situé dans le quartier Yangyang-gun à Gangwon-do, est le seul aéroport de la région Yeongdong. Cet aéroport sert également de centre d'informations touristiques en plus d'être une plateforme pour le transport en Corée.

Par ailleurs, l'aéroport n'est pas entouré de montagnes et profite du vent marin pour dissiper le brouillard qui pourrait se former. Ces caractéristiques avantageuses font de cet aéroport une structure qui peut suppléer l'aéroport de Sokcho (aéroport ayant un taux d'annulation relativement élevé) et même pour l'aéroport de Gangneung qui ne dispose pas autant d'équipements.

Temple Naksansa (낙산사)

Le temple de Naksansa, à 4 km au nord de la plage de Naksan, possède une histoire longue de 1.300 ans. Il fut bâti par le grand moine Ui-sang, sous le règne de Munmu, 30ème roi de la dynastie Silla (-57 ~ 935), et compte parmi ses monuments : une pagode de sept étages, une cloche de bronze et la porte de hongyaemun. De retour d’un séjour d’étude dans la Chine des Tang, il entra en contact avec la Boddhisatva de la compassion alors qu’il priait. Il décida de construire un temple à l’endroit même de sa rencontre et lui donna le nom de Naksansa. Reconstruit à maintes reprises, sa forme actuelle date de 1953.

L’entrée à Naksansa se fait par les portes de Iljumun et de Hongyaemun. Lorsque vous passez Hongyaemun vous pouvez voir de chaque côté des murs de terre et de pierres recouverts de tuiles ainsi que des bambous noirs. Au nord de la plage, à côté de la cloche de bronze se trouve une porte arrière donnant sur un chemin menant au pavillon de Uisangdae et à l’hermitage de Hongnyeon-am. Le pavillon Uisangdae se trouve au bord de la falaise, à l’endroit où Ui-sang avait l’habitude de s’asseoir pour méditer. Hongnyeon-am est un petit temple construit au dessus d’une grotte, il y a un trou de 10 cm qui permet d’ailleurs de voir la mer depuis le temple. Au delà du chemin qui mène au pavillon Uisangdae, se trouve plus haut le pic de Sinseong-bong, là s’y trouve une statue du Boddhisatva de la compassion, il s’agit de la plus grande d’extrême orient, elle est visible depuis le port de Mulchi.

Uisangdae est situé sur une colline au bord de mer, sur le chemin menant à la Grotte Gwaneum de Hongryeonam à partir du Temple Naksansa. Il s’agit d’un petit temple qui aurait été construit par l’Ambassadeur Uisang (625-702) durant le règne du Roi Munmu (661-681) pendant la Période Silla, sur le lieu où il méditait pendant la construction du Temple Naksansa. Le pavillon actuel fut construit en 1925.
Hongryeonam est l’endroit à ne pas manquer si vous visitez l’octogonal Uisangdae. Il fut nommé ainsi à cause d’une légende racontant qu’une fleur de lotus rouge est apparue dans la mer durant la septième année de prière de l’Ambassadeur. Il est construit à côté d’une grotte rocheuse, le rendant pittoresque, et le lever du soleil à partir d’Uisangdae est absolument spectaculaire. Songgan Jeongcheol, poète de la Période Joseon exprima ses sentiments à propos de ce dernier : « Après que les fleurs des poiriers soient tombées, et que le coucou ait pleuré avec tristesse, par delà la colline est du Mont Nak à Uisangdae, je me réveille au milieu de la nuit afin d’admirer le lever du soleil. Les prometteurs nuages semblent être resplendissant, et le soleil semble être érigé par six dragons. Puisqu’il s’élève majestueusement de la mer vers le ciel, le monde entier s’agite tandis qu’il le fait promptement, brillant plus encore que mille bougies. »

There are two types of views, the ocean and the mountain, and the former tends to be more popular among the two.

Guests can choose between the Standard Double, ideal for two, to Royal Suite for 4, Premier Suite, and Family Suite, depending on their traveling arrangements. Premier and Family Suites are in particular comfortably furnished with a wide living room.
First Floor Restaurant, located in the rooftop lounge on the 7th floor, is the other draw of the hotel. Its meals are served with an expansive and unobstructed view of the East Sea. The restaurant offers breakfast in the morning, and a pub serving food from the grill and beer in the evening. The hotel is located near Yangyang and Sokcho’s famous sights, such as Naksansa Temple, Naksan Beach, and Daepohang Port.

Ce parc est devenu célèbre pour ses vues imprenables du lever du soleil sur la Mer de l’Est. Le parc Seorak du Lever du Soleil s’étend sur plus 20952 m² et pemet de profiter de sublimes panoramas côtiers. Les vues du soleil se levant entre les pins sont particulièrement renommées.

Le parc a longtemps été appelé « Naemulchi », dénomination datant de la Période Joseon (1392-1910). Le lettré Song Si-Yeol s’y arrêta alors qu’il était en route pour l’île Geojedo pour s’y exiler et appela ainsi l’endroit, comme si un village croulait sous l’eau après une forte pluie.

A l’intérieur du parc vous trouverez la Tour Mémoriale Jamboree, un théâtre à ciel ouvert, un centre d’informations touristiques, et de nombreux endroits pour se promener sur le bord de mer.
