Kidzania, situé à Jamsil, Songpa-gu (Séoul), est un espace pour le divertissement en famille spécialement conçu pour les enfants âgés de 3 à 16 ans. Ce parc donne aux enfants la chance de découvrir des métiers qu’ils souhaiteraient exercer plus tard. Déjà implanté dans divers pays dans le monde, il fut ouvert pour la première fois au Mexique et c’est en février 2010 qu’il fit son apparition sur le sol coréen.
Kidzania possède trois étages au total. Les enfants peuvent y découvrir plus de 90 métiers différents. A travers des jeux de rôles réalistes, ils apprennent également la valeur du travail et le facteur économique de la vraie vie. Ils pourront porter des uniformes de policier, pompier, steward ou chef cuisinier et seront même payés en Kidzo, une monnaie virtuelle. Monnaie qu’ils mettront soit en banque ou qu’ils dépenseront dans le grand magasin. Chaque bâtiment, voiture et arbre est reproduit à l’échelle 2/3 afin de leur donner une expérience de vie d’adulte encore plus crédible.
Kidzania, qui simule l’environnement d’une vraie ville, propose divers métiers et plein d’évènements. Lorsqu’il y a un incendie, un pompier se rend sur place afin de le combattre et un reporter couvre la scène. Pendant que les équipes de secours donnent les premiers soins aux victimes, les services de livraison livrent les colis. A travers ces expériences de simulation de vie, les enfants peuvent apprendre comment agir en tant qu’individus responsables dans la société et comment fonctionne l’économie.
