This hanok (traditional Korean house) is located at the center of Hanok Conservation Area, known as Hwangnidan-gil Street. To the north lies the old alley that connects to Cheomseongdae Observatory. The house has sarangchae building, byeolchae building, and main building, which is used as a gallery and café, surrounding the grass lawn in the center. All rooms are equipped with ondol (under-the-heating system) and a red clay finish, and each room has a bathroom with shower facilities.
Sarangchae is a two-story hanok building with a hipped-and-gable roof. Its first floor is occupied by a double room and a family room, which can support up to 4 people. Byeolchae is a single-floor hanok with a gable roof, containing two double rooms and a raised floor space. The main building’s gallery contains a hanok experience room, cafe, restaurant, and a traditional tea room. A Korean-style breakfast is offered in the cafe, and the management also offers experience programs like tea ceremony, traditional games like yunnori (board game), and traditional musical instruments like janggo (hourglass-shaped drums) and gayageum (twelve-stringed zither).

According to a Korean myth, Gyerim Forest in Banwolseong Fortress, Gyeongju is the birthplace of Silla Kingdom founder Kim Alji (of Gyeongju Kim’s Clan) about two thousand years ago. Gyerimgung Hanok Pension is located 2 kilometers from Banwolseong Fortress and is named after the forest. Inside the gate are guestrooms named “Yoseok Room” with a large window in the detached building, “Sirim Room” and “Alji Room” in the main building, and “Asadal Room” and “Asanyeo Room” right next to it. The guesthouse has a shared kitchen and two “wondumak” (a Korean lookout hut on stilts usually in a melon field for guests to use). Barbecue facilities are also available upon reservation. This hanok (traditional Korean house) is located very near to Cheomseongdae Observatory. Its location in front of the Gyeongju Historic Areas allows guests to reach major sights in Gyeongju like Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and Hwangnidan-gil Street by foot. This hanok symbolizes the historicity of the city of Gyeongju in that during its construction a female skeleton and accessories made out of precious metals were excavated from the site. The accommodation’s name comes from the idiom “Muwijayeon (leaving nature as it is),” combining bamboo and pine trees with green grass, show its dedication to ideals of rest and philosophy.
There are five rooms in total, all ondol (under-the-floor heating system) rooms for two. Korean paper lining the walls and old-fashioned furniture speak to the ideal beauty of hanok. The raised floor space, which is attached to the “Munmu” room, is a great place to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. All rooms have modern bathrooms with shower facilities, and a complimentary breakfast is served in the cafe on site from 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning. The complex has abundant parking spaces for the guests.

Seokbinggo significa "congelador hecho en las rocas". Es un refrigerador antiguo de Corea, único en el mundo, y está situado en Gyeongju, la antigua capital del reino de Silla (57 a.C.-935). La apariencia externa de esta maravilla es sumamente humilde y simple. Sin embargo, no se sentirá defraudado una vez se haya asomado a la entrada de este congelador, pues sentirá el frío proveniente del interior de la estructura rocosa. La mitad de Seokbinggo se encuentra en el subsuelo mientras que la otra mitad está por encima del nivel del suelo, demostrando la propensión científica de la gente de Silla. Su piso, paredes y techo están hechas de granito y tiene una entrada de aire. Las paredes están cubiertas de cal para impedir el paso de la humedad y agua. El piso está inclinado para permitir que el hielo derretido fluya fuera de la cabina. Como material aislante, se usó la paja, cuyo poder aislante es altamente eficaz según experimentos realizados por científicos de la actualidad. El hielo conservado en este congelador era una de las delicias preferidas de la clase noble. En los anales históricos se hallaron registros sobre este Seokbinggo y se tienen pruebas de que fue construido, al menos, hace 1.500 años.

Este fue el lugar de la fortaleza del palacio durante la dinastía Silla (57 a.C. - 935). El nombre de la fortaleza significa literalmente 'luna creciente encima del monte'.

Los famosos libros de Samgukyusa dicen que el cuarto rey de Silla, Seoktalhae (57 a 80) pensaba que esta área era ideal para la fortaleza y compró la tierra a un noble. El segundo rey Namhae (4 a 24), impresionado por la acción de Seoktalhae, lo acogió como hijo más tarde, convirtiéndolo en el cuarto rey. La zona estuvo entonces bajo mandato de Silla por 900 años, siendo el último rey, Gyeongsun (927 a 935). A pesar de la magnífica grandeza del palacio, ahora es solo un terreno baldío, y según dicen estaba llena de edificios imperiales de la dinastía Silla.

En la actualidad, la zona de Wolseong tiene un congelador hecho de rocas llamado Seokbinggo, un lugar para arquería, un campo de carreras de caballo y un parque infantil, que se asemeja a los terrenos del período Joseon (la dinastía que gobernó en la península coreana desde 1392 a 1910).

Located in Gyeongju City, Hwangnamgwan is a traditional Korean style accommodation which opened in April 2014. The place looks like a small hanok village with 4 one-story buildings and 2 two-story buildings, constructed on about 5000㎡ of building site. The buildings are equipped with modern convenience facilities but manage to preserve the antique flavor of traditional Korean house. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom. A bathtub is installed in the largest room, Numaru Suite. Auxiliary facilities include the seminar room which is located in the two-story building. There are a cafe and a pizza restaurant on the first floor for meetings or simple meals. Guests are given discount coupons for the cafe. Various traditional plays can be enjoyed in the hanok. It is possible to take photos with the beautiful Hwangnamgwan building in the background wearing traditional Korean clothes. You can also play Neolttwigi, Tuho, and Jegichagi in the wide yard and experience twisting legs, bastinado, turning the millstone, fulling, Pogurak (dancing play), etc. which have appeared on TV dramas. It is possible to receive discounted services at nearby affiliated facilities: 50% discount at Spalux Jjimjilbang, Kids Cafe, and Sport Town Bowling Center. Famous tourist attractions such as Cheonmachong Tomb, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Banwolseong Fortress are within walking distance; and the National Gyeongju Museum and Gyeongju World Culture Expo Park are likewise not far from Hwangnamgwan.

Designado como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco en noviembre del 2000, es una zona histórica que conserva toda la historia y cultura de Gyeongju, la antigua capital de Silla (57-935). Se clasifican en un total de 5 áreas históricas.

La primera es la zona de Namsan, la cuna del arte budista de Silla. Considerado un museo al aire libre sin paredes, es un lugar en donde persiste el espíritu de Silla, y reúne 37 reliquias budistas; el pabellón Poseokjeong (Sitio Histórico Nº 1), la roca Tapgok Maaejosanggun (Tesoro Nº 201 – figuras budistas grabadas en roca), la pagoda de tres pisos de piedra del templo Cheonryongsa (Tesoro Nº 1188), la roca Chilburam Maaeseokbul (Tesoro Nº 200 - figuras budistas grabadas en roca), la roca Bulgok Seokbuljwasang (Tesoro Nº 198), etc.

La segunda es la zona de Wolseong, sitio en donde estaban los palacios de la dinastía milenaria de Silla. Se encuentran en esta área el bosque Gyerim (Sitio Histórico Nº 19), el sitio de la sala Imhaejeon, y el mejor observatorio de Asia “Cheomseongdae” (Tesoro Nacional Nº 31).

La tercera es la zona Daereungwon, el complejo de tumbas reales, los pertenecientes a los reyes, reinas y miembros de la nobleza. Durante su proceso de excavación se han encontrado coronas, pinturas de caballos míticos, variedad de cerámica, etc., entre otras reliquias que han servido como base de estudio histórico.

La cuarta es la zona en donde se encontraba instalado el famoso templo “Hwangnyongsa” (Sitio Histórico Nº 246). Y por último, la quinta zona, es el lugar en donde se establecía la fortaleza Myeonghwalsanseong (Sitio Histórico Nº 47), que se presume que fue construído hace 400 años. Estas áreas históricas de Gyeongju, designadas como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Unesco, comprenden un total de 52 patrimonios culturales.

Nadeul Hanok was opened in 2018 with brand-new facilities, in a location just a minute’s walk from Cheomseongdae Observatory in Gyeongju. You can feel a sense of healing in nature in the traditional style house, built in environment-friendly construction method with wood and earth. The ‘ㄷ’-shaped building creates a snug atmosphere and the hipped-and-gable roof and the curves of the roof tile show the traditional quiet and still flavor of a traditional Korean house. There are 7 rooms in Nadeul Hanok. Among them, the Garam, Gayeon, and Nuri Rooms are offered at 50,000 won for 2 persons during off-season so that visitors can enjoy staying in a traditional Korean house at more affordable prices. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom for better convenience and there is an individual thermostat all year round. Complimentary breakfast made of healthy convenience food is offered to all guests. The menu is composed of barley bread, fruit, coffee, juice, boiled egg, and biscuit, and is subject to change according to situation. What is good is that the breakfast can be delivered to the room if the delivery time is requested during breakfast time, which is from 8 to 9 AM. It is possible to look around the tourist attractions near Nadeul Hanok on foot.
