Chilsung Boatyard is a cafe remodeled from an old boatyard located near Cheongcho Lake Park. The facility was run as a boatyard from 1952 to 2017 before reopening its doors as a cafe in 2018. The cafe consists of four spaces - Salon, Museum, Playscape, and Open Factory - with Salon being the cafe. It sells self-roasted coffee, hot chocolate, ice cream, sparkling water drinks, and many other beverages. The outdoor tables of the cafe are connected to Cheongchoho Lake, which attracts many families. There are traces of the old boatyard still remaining throughout the venue.

Cheongchoho Lake, located in the center of Sokcho city, is a large natural lake with a circumference of 5 m and an area of 1.3 km2. The source water originates from the Misiryeong Valley of Taebaek Mountain Range and flows to the Cheongchocheon Stream and to this beautiful lake, and then continues to the adjacent sea. So, the lake is an intermediate stop between the river and the sea. Cheongchojeong Pavilion is located above the lake, offering an open view of Seoraksan Mountain and the East Sea. As it is situated at the end of the 75 m-long ocean bridge, you will feel standing in the middle of the lake and enjoy a panoramic view of the lake. Shining more at night, this pavilion is regarded as the best attraction for the beautiful night view in Sokcho. It also attracts visitors’ attraction with its sculptures of the blue and yellow dragons, which were established based on the local legend associated with Cheongchoho Lake. The trail built around the lakeside is equipped with a nighttime lighting system so that many people visit it at night and the benches for rest and appreciating the view. There are many attractions around the lake, such as Seokbong Ceramic Museum, bird sanctuary, etc. The Cheongchoho Lake Park was the venue of the International Travel Expo ’99 Kangwon and is known for its 73.4 m high Expo Tower Observatory.

Yettteul has been serving traditional gamasot sondubu (handmade bean curd cooked in a cast-iron pot) and wild-caught seop guk (mussel soup) for over 30 years. In Gangwon dialect, 'seop' refers to mussels. Their seop guk, a hangover soup, is made with seop (mussels), mushrooms, chives, green onions, and eggs, all simmered in a broth prepared with aged soybean paste and red chili paste. Naerincheon River starts out as a small stream on Bungnyongsan Mountain and flows down Sogyebangsan Mountain before joining with other small valley streams to create the larger river that most people know. The river has created a valley with many interesting and uniquely shaped rocks as it flowed down the mountainside over the years. The waters are so pure, the small pebbles and sand lining the bottom of the stream can be seen clearly. Sokcho Oeongchi Badahyanggiro Trail (속초 외옹치 바다향기로)

Badahyanggiro is a unique, 1.74-kilometer-long coastal trail that runs from Sokcho Beach to Oeongchi Port. It is mainly divided into the Sokcho Beach section (850 meters) and the Oeongchi section (890 meters), with each having its own vibes. If you are looking to take a light walk along the beach, the Sokcho Beach section is a perfect choice and, if you wish to enjoy views of the dynamic landscape, the Oeongchi section is recommended. The Oeongchi section was restricted to civilian access for several decades so it holds fabulous scenery that has not been damaged by people for a long period of time. It is also famous as a filming spot for K-dramas. The blue sea seems to continue endlessly along the trail that features both a wooden deck path and a dirt road, and the sounds of crashing waves add a sense of refreshment to the scene. The water is so pure and clean that you can clearly see the sea floor. The Oeongchi section consists of four themed courses including the Bamboo Meditation path, Sky Deck path, National Security Experience path, and Rock Observation path. The coastline barbed-wire fences installed on the National Security Experience path are what remain from the original fences set up after the submarine infiltration incident by armed Communist guerillas in 1970. It is also fun to watch rocks of strange shapes form on the coastline including Gulbawi Rock and Jinebawi Rock.
