Sinchon Sisters is a friendly guesthouse in Mapo-gu, Seoul, that caters for young travelers. Rooms are for two, three or four people, and each room has its own bathroom. Jaunam Hermitage (자운암)

Jaunam Hermitage was originally built in 1396 by Great Monk Muhak of Joseon dynasty. It was renovated in 1734, and finally took shape of the hermitage we know today in 1976 when Monk Boryun added Daeungjeon Hall, Chilseonggak Pavilion, and Sansigak Pavilion. It is currently located in the famous Jahadong Valley on the Seoul National University campus.

Gwanaksan Mountain (관악산)

Reaching 632.2 meters in x_height, Gwanaksan Mountain is the symbol and pride of Gwanak-gu district in Seoul. Most of the cultural heritage of the district originates from Gwanaksan Mountain. Since it was designated as a city natural park in 1968, it has continued to serve as a favorite place for relaxation and excursion for Seoul citizens. The various rocky peaks and the deep valleys give the mountain a rugged feel. The mountain's size and close proximity to Seoul make it easy for Seoul residents to make a day trip.

In the spring, cherry blossoms are in full bloom near the entrance to the mountain, and a Rhododendron Festival is held when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. At the mountain's summit are Wongaksa Temple and Yeonjuam Hermitage, which were built by Taejo Yi Seong-gye (the founder of the Joseon dynasty) to ward off misfortune when he decided to move the capital to Seoul. There are also other temples and hermitages, and a ground radar observation post. Yeonjudae Hermitage, located atop a cliff, is where all the hiking trails of Gwanaksan Mountain meet.

Water Garden (물의정원)

Namyangju Water Garden was created as a waterside ecological park with a vast area of 484,188 ㎡ created by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport as part of the Hangang River Restoration Project in 2012. Gwacheon Wildflower Nature Learning Center (과천야생화자연학습장)

Gwacheon Wildflower Nature Learning Center was opened to provide a place to learn about nature and harmony. The area is 6,900㎡ and has approximately 112 species of wildflowers. Korean tightrope walking is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The site offers an educational tightrope walking experience program for those interested.

April 19th National Cemetery (국립4.19민주묘지)

Located at the foot of Bukhansan Mountain, the April 19th National Cemetery was established in memory of the 224 people who lost their lives during the 4.19 Revolution in 1960. The cemetery features a memorial hall and a traditional wooden structure that houses the grave of the historic figure Yu Yeongbong.

At the cemetery is a pond surrounded by sculptures such as "Symbolic Door," "Roots of Democracy," and "Sparks of Justice" and a memorial tower bearing an inscription for the brave patriots who lost their lives during the revolution. Groves of pine, juniper, yew, and maple trees and the well-kept hiking path add a natural charm to the overwhelming ambiance of peace and serenity. Many people visit to see the spring blossoms in May, and throughout the year to take in the glorious scene of the sunset over Bukhansan Mountain.
