Situated in Myeongryun-dong in Seoul and established in 1984, Waryong Park is located near Malbawi, one of the best overlooks from which to see the city of Seoul. The park is close to natural attractions such as Samcheong Park, Changgyeong Park, and Bugaksan Mountain.

Although it was difficult to grow trees in the park because of the shallowness of the soil, many citizens participated in the nationwide campaign to plant over 10 million trees across the country, transforming places like Waryong into lush areas filled with flowering plants.

In the park, spring blooms forth in a colorful assortment of cherry trees, plum blossoms, azaleas, and forsythias, making it a popular destination for family visitors. There are also a variety of excellent amenities: badminton courts, aerobic fields, fitness facilities, and pavilions, wonderful for exercise, leisurely walks, or simply taking a break.

A famous hiking trail, running between the Seoul Fortress Wall and Samcheong Park, passes right through the park. Flanked by cherry blossoms, the trail attracts nature lovers throughout the year and especially in spring, when the trees are in full bloom. The trail also passes by the Fortress Wall in Bugaksan Mountain.

In business for more than 40 years, Seongbukdong Dwaejigalbijip has become a local legend thanks to its simple but savory menu. Pork served at the restaurant is marinated overnight in a special sauce, which infuses the meat with rich flavors that are released when the meat is grilled and the fat drips off. Philkyungjae is a restaurant serving traditional Korean cuisine served in the royal courts of Joseon. Its course menu includes jeonbokjuk (abalone porridge), bossam (napa wraps with pork), sogogi japchae (beef japchae), tteokgalbi (grilled galbi patties), and hanu yukhoe (Korean beef tartare). There are five courses on offer. All five courses are available during lunch, while dinnertime limits the selection to three. The restaurant is housed in a traditional house and garden dating back to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), so guests can enjoy the architectural beauty of Korea with Korean flavors. Tongin Market dates back to June 1941, as a public market set up for Japanese residents near the Hyoja-dong neighborhood when Korea was still under Japanese rule. After the Korean War, the nation experienced a swift rise in population, which led to a natural increase in consumption and demand. As a result the area’s street vendors and stores used the former Tongin Market area as their marketplace. Now, Tongin Market consists of 75 stores, most of which are restaurants and grocery stores. There are also some shops selling manufactured goods like underwear and shoes.

Ca'del Lupo is an Italian restaurant, closely located to Paris Baguette in Hyoja-dong, Jongno-gu near Gyeongbokgung Palace Station. Though the restaurnat masters delicious homemade Italian cuisine on the inside, the exterior is wholly Korean. This unique combination of Hanok (traditional Korean house) style housing and Western foods is drawing a lot of people to Hyoja-dong. The great mix of both cultures can be seen in the sophisticated decorations and from the amazing food. The herbs they use are picked directly from the restaurant's personal garden. But to enjoy the atmosphere here, you will have to make a reservation far in advance.

Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House) (청와대)

The signature markings of the Presidential Residence of Cheong Wa Dae are its blue tiles on the Main Office; it is the first thing to catch one's attention upon viewing the premises. Approximately 150 thousand tiles compose the roof of the Main Office. Each tile was baked individually to make them strong enough to last for hundreds of years. The blue tiles and the smoothly curving roofline blend beautifully with Bugaksan Mountain in the backdrop.

Cheong Wa Dae is comprised of the Main Office, Yeongbingwan (State Guest House), Chunchugwan (Spring and Autumn) Hall, Nokjiwon Garden, Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) Hill, and Chilgung Palace. It is interesting to see that all the buildings are unique and beautifully designed, built in the traditional Korean style. Just outside the premises is Cheongwadae Sarangchae, an exhibition hall showing the history of Cheong Wa Dae and the Korean presidency, as well as gifts received by heads of State over the years. The hall is open and free to all visitors.
