This hanok (traditional Korean house) accommodation is located in Taesan-ri, Janggun-myeon, Sejong Special Self-governing City. Its doors open to an expansive and handsome grass courtyard, with stone fences, a pond, a pavilion, stone figures, pine trees, and a furnace with a cast-iron pot.
The entire house with a courtyard is rented out in whole, with three rooms, a kitchen, a living room, and two bathrooms. There are a beam projector and a karaoke machine in the house, which makes it popular for family gatherings, corporate training sessions, or club meetings. The house has also been used for traditional marriage ceremonies and outdoor exhibitions. An outdoor barbecue area allows the guests to do some outdoor grilling, but guests can also opt to use the furnace and the traditional cast-iron pot for grilling as well. Seasonal vegetables and fruits grown in the garden are offered to guests free of charge as well. The management also offers traditional sauce-making, wood carving, tea ceremony, and meditation upon reservation.

This hanok (traditional Korean house) is located in Ochang Hanok Village within Ochang-eup’s Miraeji Theme Park. Ochang Hanok Village is a collection of about 20 modernized hanok buildings that boast excellent views of the mountain and the Ochang Reservoir nearby. Gayeongdang is owned by Kim Byeong-hee, a master in flower tea who has studied Korea’s traditional flower tea for nearly 30 years. Visitors interested in Kim’s work have an opportunity to discuss the art of flower tea over tea and sweets with the master through Gayeongdang’s tea ceremony program.
Gayeongdang is a faithful recreation of the C-shaped hanok complex, centered around a grass lawn. It is constructed entirely out of Korean pine trees, which fills the indoor spaces with a rich scent of pine. The main and annex buildings are all Korean rooms with ondol (under-the-floor heating system). The former allows guests access to the room, the living room, and the tea ceremony room, while the latter allows opportunities for grilling in the lawn. The space is also available for small events like seminars, small concerts, and marriage ceremonies.

Culture Factory (문화제조창)

De 1946 à 2004, Culture Factory à Cheongju servait comme usine de tabac. En 2021, dans le cadre du projet de régénération urbaine axé sur la culture, l'usine a été transformée en un complexe culturel composé d'un centre commercial, d'une zone destinée aux activités culturelles et d'un cluster d'artisanat d'art. Grâce au remodelage de l'immeuble original, les colonnes, la charpente et la cheminée ont été préservées, ce qui permet de voir d'apprécier les anciennes facettes de l'immeuble en tant qu'usine de tabac.

En tant que lieu symbolique à Cheongju, une ville d'artisanat, Culture Factory accueille désormais de nombreuses expositions liées à l'artisanat. L'endroit organise diverses expositions concernant l'artisanat d'art. Au rez-de-chaussée, on trouve également des restaurants et des magasins.

Le site abrite également le musée de l'Artisanat coréen au deuxième et troisième étage ; l'entrée au lieu est gratuite. La bibliothèque ouverte de Cheongju et le café pour enfants au cinquième étage constituent des attractions populaires pour les familles.

La salle de spectacles organise fréquemment une variété de pièces de théâtre ainsi que des concerts pour offrir aux citoyens de Cheongju davantage d'occasions de profiter de la culture.

Boulangerie de Palbong (décor de tournage pour Bread, Love and Dreams)

Après avoir été aperçue dans la série Cain et Abel, la boulangerie Palbong apparaît de nouveau dans Bread, Love and Dreams. Située à l’entrée de Suamgol, Cheongju (province du Chungcheongbuk-do), c’est le principal lieu de tournage de cette série télévisée. Redécorée d’après la galerie W, le rez de chaussée est une boulangerie, le premier étage est utilisé comme café, et le premier sous-sol sert de studio artistique. L’énorme popularité de la série télé a attiré de nombreux visiteurs dans la boulangerie. En plus des nombreuses peintures artistiques sur les murs de Suamgol, les visiteurs peuvent déguster du pain, du café et du thé succulents en admirant le studio de tournage de Bread, Love and Dreams. La vue depuis le café du premier étage donne sur le centre-ville de Cheongju, ce qui en fait un endroit idéal pour un rendez-vous entre amoureux.

Mokhyangjae, which literally means a ’house with tree fragrance,’ is a traditional Korean pension house which stands alone beside a boulevard surrounded by apartment complexes. Entering the garden with a low fence, you will be greeted by the antique two-story Korean style building. The building of Mokhyangjae was built in the style of a palace with red pine tree used for the crossbeam and pillars. With a feeling of magnificence and coziness at the same time, the rafter ceiling shows the wood grain and the sliding door pasted with traditional Korean paper adds to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. The rooms are composed of the traditional Ondol Room where one or two persons can stay; the Ordinary Room is equipped with a bedroom and an attic; and the Deluxe Room has a wide traditional Ondol room for guests from solo travelers to families. The bedroom and the living room also have traditional display cupboard and heavy hardwood table which had been used by the owner of the house, adding to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. Equipped with cartoons and picture books, the attic is a favorite place of children. Scattered with stepping stones, the front yard of the house is filled with Sansuyu, magnolia, and cherry trees that blossom in spring. Mokhyangjae is running a traditional teahouse as well. The teahouse was opened thanks to the Chinese husband who enjoys tea, and most of the teas are imported from China. You can have a taste of dozens of kinds of teas including puer tea and red tea, along with a simple tea confectionery.

Observatoire de Suamgol (수암골전망대)

Entrepôt Dongbu (동부창고)
