The Teddy Bear Farm introduces the birth story of teddy bear associated with President Roosevelt, and shows various styles of teddy bear dolls, in particular, miniature versions of teddy bears from the world’s fairy tales, teddy bear in hanbok (traditional Korean clothes), teddy bear at a camping site, teddy bear enjoying a Christmas party, and so on. Sinheungsa Temple is a temple located in Seoraksan Mountain near Sokcho. It belongs to the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was originally founded as Hyangseongsa Temple by the monk Jajang in the Shilla dynasty (A.D. 652). Within the temple grounds, cultural heritage sites such as Geungnakbojeon Hall, a wooden structure from the mid-Joseon period, and the Three-story Stone Pagoda at Hyangseongsa Temple Site. The temple offers a templestay program where visitors can experience temple life firsthand. Participants can engage in various activities such as Buddhist ceremonies, Buddhist prayer, 108 prostrations, and lotus lantern and rosary making.

Situated by the Osaegyaksuteo Mineral Spring on Seoraksan Mountain, Osaek Sikdang is celebrated for its Yaksu gamasot jeongsik (dish cooked in a cast-iron pot set menu), which is uniquely prepared using mineral spring water from Seoraksan Mountain. The iron content in the water gives the rice a distinctive, almost blue hue. Another popular item on the menu is the Sanchae jeongsik (wild vegetable dish set menu), comprising about 12 side dishes made with seasonal wild vegetables harvested from Seoraksan Mountain, offering a taste that varies with the seasons.

Osaek Mineral Spring is situated 20 kilometers west of Yangyang and 7.5 kilometers southeast from Hangyeryeong Pass. The water, which springs from three base rocks by a brook, is carbonated and rich in iron. Up to 1,500 liters of iron-rich water spring out on a daily basis. Osaek became well known due to the splendid landscape leading up to the mineral spring and its location on the way to the summit of Seoraksan Mountain.

Biryongpokpo Falls (비룡폭포)

Biryongpokpo Falls is 2.4 km away in the south from the Seoraksan Small Park ticket booth. Biryongpokpo Falls is located between Towangseong Falls in the upper region and Yukdam Falls in the lower region. Biryongpokpo Falls was named after the shape of the water stream of the falls (pokpo) resembling a dragon (ryong) ascending (bi) to heaven. Their powerful water streams pouring into the narrow and rough valley look like a legendary dragon. There is another tale associated with Biryongpokpo Falls. A dragon lived here, and one day villagers offered a maiden to the dragon to break the drought. Then, the dragon flew up to the sky, and there were no more droughts in the village. The waterfalls drop 16 m to the ground and their loud sound resonates in the valley. In winter, the waterfalls freeze and the frozen water columns offer another magnificent view. A clear pond is formed beneath the falls and around which there is a wooden observation deck. Biryongpokpo Falls and Surroundings in Seoraksan Mountain were designated as the Scenic Site No. 95. It takes about 1 hr from the Small Park to the Biryongpokpo Falls, while it takes about 3 hr (round-trip) to visit up to Towangseong Falls and Yukdam Falls. The difficulty level of this tour course is ordinary.

Namaehang Port (남애항)

The largest port in Yangyang area is also one of the Eight Sights of Yangyang, and along with Simgokhang Port of Gangneung and Chogokhang Port of Samcheok, said to be the three most beautiful ports in Gangwon-do. Indeed, its reputation can be seen in the picturesque view of the white and red lighthouse, breakwater, and the fishing boats docked at the port. Another point of interest at Namaehang Port is the Namaehang Skywalk Observatory. Located at the entrance to the breakwater, this observation point offers a breathtaking view of the Namaehang Port area and the East Sea. The island, where the skywalk is located, was called Yangyado Island during the Joseon period, and the site of this observation point used to have a beacon during the Joseon period. Namae Fishing Village Experience, a village that is fed by the Namaehang Port, offers fishing boat trips for visitors, along with hand fishing, rock crab catching, and stuffed squid making. Some of Namaehang Port’s major catches include squid, plaice, and flatfish. A line of restaurants specializing in raw fish slices allows visitors to enjoy the fresh catch right away.

Bongjeongam Hermitage (Inje) (봉정암(인제))

Bongjeongam Hermitage, situated at the highest point of Seoraksan Mountain, stands at 1,244 meters above sea level. Due to its elevation, one can witness snow-covered landscapes well into late May. The temple is 10.6 kilometers from the entrance of Baekdamsa Temple and requires 4-5 hours of steep climbing to reach. The view from Bongjeongam Hermitage is breathtaking, but the view of Seoraksan Mountain from the Shrine of Sakyamuni Buddha's Sarira is equally unmissable.
