Herbnara Farm opened in 1996 as the first herb-themed farm in Korea. The farm was started in a deep valley in Pyeongchang by a couple whose age added up to 100 years. At that time, the farm was just a small plot of land, but has expanded to the current 33,000 ㎡ and is one of Pyeongchang's representative tourist attractions. The farm offers ten themed gardens with over 150 herbs such as lavender and sage. Delicious dishes and drinks made with herbs cultivated on the farm are available at the restaurant and cafe. Visitors can also make herbal soap and candles in the herb classroom, and enjoy cultural events throughout the farm.

Geumdanggyegok Valley (금당계곡)

Geumdanggyegok Valley, located upstream of the Pyeongchanggang River, is a gorge between three different districts of Bongpyeong-myeon, Yongpyeong-myeon and Daehwa-myeon, just west of Geumdangsan Mountain (1,173 m). Geumdanggyegok Valley is an impressive site with sections of both gentle and fast flowing valley waters. From late March through April full-blown azalea covers the mountainsides and valleys providing visitors with a refreshing spring scent.

To reach Geumdanggyegok Valley, travel down along the Pyeongchanggang River from Jangpyeong or trek up the valley from Anmi Elementary School. Coming down to Pyeongchang-eup from Daehwa-myeon area, visitors will encounter an intersection called, “Saechugeori”. The intersection has two parts: Sanganmi and Haanmiri and a sign indicating the Geumdanggyegok Valley entrance. Across the valley, odd-shaped rock formations and cliffs appear one after another along the river. The area is a native habitat for a species of otter (Natural Treasure No. 330) and a favorite spot for catching catfish.

Hoengseong National SoopCheWon is located 850 meters above sea level on Cheongtaesan Mountain. Gajae-Wa-Gom is a log-built pension in the upper Heungjeong Valley in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. The guestrooms are cozy cabins, either red-clayed single-storey, or two-sotrey cabins. Gajae-dong and Wa-dong have an ondol 1st floor with a bedroom upstairs, while Gom-dong has a 1st floor bed room with an attic above. The red-clayed cabin, Hwangto, has a furnace-fired ondol. All rooms have terraces where guests can enjoy barbecue meals.There are karaoke rooms and foot volleyball courts outside, and free coffee and tea are provided in the lounge.
