Jeonju Nambu Traditional Market opened as a regular public market in 1905 at the site of the Joseon-era Nammunbakk Market, located just outside the Southern gate to the city. Currently the market is comprised of about 800 stores with 1,200 workers selling vegetables, fruits, food, dried fish, furniture, silk goods, and general goods.

The market was revitalized with the creation of the Youth Market, located in the previously empty shops on the second floor of 6-dong. An influx of young shopkeepers and entrepreneurs has given the marketplace an exciting vibe like that found in Hongdae or Samcheong-dong.

The night market held on Fridays and Saturdays also draws in many visitors with a multitude of delicious treats, ranging from traditional dishes such as nokdujeon (mung bean pancake) to fusion treats like bibimbap served in rice paper like a spring roll.

Eosahwa Hanok Stay, which stands in the center of Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, was originally built as the residence of the Jeonju police chief; it’s unusually high for a hanok and faces south. A bed has been provided for guests unfamiliar with ondol sleeping, and two rather small rooms were put together to make a larger bedroom and living room. A healthy and delicious breakfast is provided. All the sights of Jeonju Hanok Village are nearby.

Jeonju Hanok Garden in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, is a guesthouse combining traditional hanok charm with modern comfort. All guestrooms have a modern bathroom and toilet and a toenmaru wooden porch, while two rooms (Hope and Faith) have an additional inner floors attached to it. Siwon is a timber and clay-built hanok stay, part of Jeonju Hanok Village in Jeollabuk-do. It has four guestrooms, all but one with a small attic - so guests can have fun climbing up and down the ladder! The rooms have all been insulated and draft-proofed to keep visitors warm and comfortable. In the yard is a small garden and swing, and guests can play traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi - or even take part in a carpentry workshop. Must-see sites such as Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral, Omokdae, and Nambu Market can all be reached on foot.

Hanok Story, on Hyanggyo-gil in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, is a hanok guesthouse that harmonizes tradition with convenience. Each room is equipped with a toilet, TV and AC, and one room has cooking facilities. In the yard is a 50-year-old persimmon tree - the house’s tutelary spirit - and a cafeteria built of cypress wood. Dongnagwon is a hanok hotel in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do. It was built as a memorial hall for the missionary William Junkin, who founded a school mission in Jeonju in 1895. Now refurbished as a hotel and venue for traditional performances, wedding ceremonies and seminars, visitors will find old-style interiors with antique furniture and folding screens. Guests can play traditional games in the yard, and there is a red clay room to relieve the fatigue of travel, free of charge. Mountain bikes can be borrowed to ride around the Hanok Village or on the banks of the Jeonjucheon Stream.

In Joseon times Yangsajae hanok stay in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, was part of the Jeonju hyanggyo or local Confucian school - a place of study and scholarship. Later the poet Lee Byeong-ki lived and wrote here, and later still, in 1987, the house became a public elementary school. Since 2002 it has been a hanok stay dedicated to cultural tourism and promotion of local history and traditions.

The Dongnagwon House in Jeonju Hanok Village provides a getaway to experience hanok stay and traditional Korean life. Affiliated with Jeonju Kijeon College, Dongnagwon is also a memorial hall dedicated to W. M. Junkin, who came to Korea as a missionary from the South Presbyterian Church of the United States in 1892. Dongnagwon is a reproduction of the old hanok houses in Jeonju from the time when W. M. Junkin was doing his missionary work in the area. It is comprised of three buildings: Anchae (main hall), Sarangchae (guest house), and Haengnangchae (servants’ quarters).

Visitors to Dongnagwon can learn and experience traditional Korean culture such as music, crafts, and dance while inhabiting traditional lodging. In addition to providing accommodation for individual guests, Dongnagwon is also used for group accommodations or activities such as seminars, conferences, and family events. For groups of 30 or more, it is possible to rent out the entire venue (in addition to all facilities, including Seungdokdang, Seunghwadang, Cheongyuje, and the front yard).

The Gangam Calligraphy Museum (est. 1995) in Jeonju Hanok Village has on display over 1,000 works from famous artists such as Kim Jeong-hee (1786-1856, calligrapher, painter, & scholar), Lee Sam-man (1770-1847, calligrapher), Kim Hong-do (1745-?, artist), and Jeong Yak-yong (1762-1836, scholar). This museum also houses a seminar room for calligraphy-related events and educational programs.

Standing on Hanji-gil in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeollabuk-do, Dankyung is a hanok stay with a more-than 80 year history that now welcomes travellers to a comfortable and cozy space. There are five accommodations altogether - four rooms in the main building, plus an annexe which is rented as a whole house. The floors are of wood, creating a delicate scent in all the rooms. Across the yard is a gallery where guests can take tea or coffee while looking at the art works on its wall. From the gallery roof, there are fine views of Jeonju Hanok Village.
