Yeoro is a hanok guesthouse in a quiet residential part of Sansu-dong, Gwangju, Jeollanam-do. The guesthouse has four ondol rooms, all equipped with a toilet and refrigerator. There is a shared washing machine (free of charge) in an outside bathroom. For breakfast, home-made sweet pumpkin porridge is served. Every October, Gwangju Chungjang Festival takes place around the area of Chungjang-ro, a representative street in Gwangju where old history and fast changes exist together. Namgwangju Market formed naturally in the area around the old Namgwangju Station, selling everything from seafood and fresh produce to household items. The market suffered a lot when the train station was closed, but it is still very famous for fresh fish, which comes in every morning between 2 and 5 AM. Due to this, there are many raw fish restaurants in the area, with fresh fish and very affordable prices.

Jeonpyeongje Reservoir was built in 1943 to supply water for agricultural purposes to farms in the Maewol-dong and Byeokjin-dong regions as well as to prevent both floods and droughts. Starting in 1999, the reservoir was changed to a rest area, with a wooden deck crossing the reservoir to the man-made island in the middle. The area now serves as a waterside relaxation and eco-exploration space for family visitors.
