The Gyeryong World Military Culture Expo is held in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do where all three branches of the Korean military are located. What started as a festival to celebrate Korea's national military service members in 2007 has expanded to celebrate the military culture of various countries around the world. The expo aims to promote peace by understanding international military culture, while also looking at the technical aspects of the military for future leaders. Gangneung is as renowned for its delicious coffee as it is for its scenic coastline. At the opening ceremony, 100 baristas hold a “100 People 100 Tastes” performance where they simultaneously brew hand-drip coffee. The Busan International Short Film Festival started in the 1997 as Busan Short Film Festival and was renamed as Busan Asian Short Film Festival in 2000, expanding to include short movies from all across Asia. As time went on, the festival once again expanded its scope to include films from around the world and was renamed as Busan International Short Film Festival in 2010. The festival has laid a foundation for the development of Korean movies. It continues to stir up support and interest in short films, acting as a catalyst for the Korean short films industry.

Gyeryongsan Mountain Sanshinje Festival is an annual traditional ceremony to worship and celebrate the mountain spirits. The ceremony draws many visitors thanks to the beautiful spring scenery of Gyeryongsan Mountain. There are also many attractions and traditional performances during the event. Yanghwa-ri Village, the main venue of the festival, is where the heritage and culture of Sanshinje ceremony are well preserved.
