The Goryeong Daegaya Festival is the Goryeong's flagship festival and a long-standing celebration where visitors can explore and experience the unique history and culture of Daegaya. In 2025, Goryeong was officially designated as the ancient capital of Daegaya, further enhancing the significance of its rich historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the discovery of pottery bearing the inscription “Great King” at the moat of the Daegaya Palace Site provided important evidence that Daegaya was a powerful ancient kingdom. Together with the inscription of the Jisandong Ancient Tombs on the UNESCO World Heritage List, these developments underscore the importance of preserving and promoting Daegaya’s history and culture for future generations. Under the theme “Daegaya Begins Again: RE-BORN,” the 2026 Goryeong Daegaya Festival seeks to foster pride in Goryeong’s status as the ancient capital of Daegaya while continuing to grow as a leading festival celebrating history and cultural heritage.

Set amid the spectacular winter landscape of the Hantangang River, the Cheorwon Hantangang River Ice Trekking Festival is one of Cheorwon’s premier winter celebrations. The festival has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Korea Festival Contents Awards and was selected as an Outstanding Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for 2026–2027. Connected to the Hantangang River Mulwit-gil trekking course, the festival allows visitors to enjoy the river’s breathtaking snowy scenery while taking part in a variety of performances and winter-themed activities held throughout the festival period at the main venue beneath Seungilgyo Bridge. Special events, including the popular “Ttongbaram Altong Road Run," add to the festive atmosphere and excitement.

Hwaseong Boating Festival is a maritime cultural festival held at Jeongok Port, the closest port to Seoul. The Hangang Night Walk 42K is a nighttime walking marathon, starting and ending at Nogeum Fountain at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul.
